NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY MELBOURNE

Welcome to our Newborn Photography Gallery

This has to be one of the most amazing times in your life, the miracle of a newborn baby. I want to help you capture this memorable time and document all these soft and tender moments. There is nothing more beautiful than little newborn feet, fuzzy hair, flakey skin and first smiles.

As first time parents we were exhausted and a little overwhelmed on day 8 when we had our photoshoot but Niki was super friendly, reassuring, patient and wonderful. She has absolutely stunning props and talked us through the session. It was so much fun for my husband & I and the pictures were absolutely stunning! Ever since I haven’t stopped recommending Niki Sprekos to everyone I know and look forward to using her many more times in the future. Thanks so much Niki, you truly are lovely, professional and amazing!! – Regine

FAQs

When should I book my newborn session?
I recommend booking in the early stages of pregnancy as my bookings are managed by allocating a number of shoots per calendar month. It is also great thing for get that one item off your newborn “to do” list. If you have a scheduled delivery, it is recommended to inform me of this date and schedule your newborn session ahead of time.

What is the best age to photograph a newborn?
I recommend having newborns photographed between 6-14 days. This is when newborns are most comfortable, sleepy and content during a session. After this, newborns can become more alert and sometimes develop wind and reflux issues which could interfere in capturing those gorgeous sleepy poses.

Where are newborn sessions are held?
Newborn sessions are held in my home studio in Malvern East, Melbourne. It is the perfect environment to capture your newborn photographs as it is warm, calm and peaceful – perfect for your newborn baby. Newborn sessions are held Monday – Fridays and some weekends (fees apply). The studio is the perfect place to sit back, relax and watch your newborn’s first photoshoot.

How long does a newborn session last?
Newborn sessions last between 2 – 3 hours to ensure there is enough time for lots of cuddles, feeds and everyone is nice and relaxed. Newborns tend to get thirsty during a session as it is warm, so if you are bottle feeding I recommended that you bring extra milk.

Do you have props (e.g baskets, baskets, hats etc.)?
Yes. The studio is filled with beautiful newborn clothing, textured blankets, wraps and props which are all available to you during your session. When you book my session we will have a discussion about what colours you like and I can style to suit. I do prefer to keep newborn photographs minimalistic to ensure your images remain timeless.

Can parents and/or siblings be in newborn sessions?
Yes you can. In newborn sessions, I encourage both parents to participate in the photo session and capture any older siblings as well.

What happens after a session?
4-5 weeks after your session you will receive a link to your private online gallery containing images. Your gallery allows you to view your images and select any you may want to get printed and display with pride in your home. Examples of my products are available in my studio, such as our beautiful art mount albums. These are a stunning heirlooms to pass on to future generations. Your private online gallery can also be shared with family and friends.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, please contact me.

My newborn is already two weeks old, have I missed out?
While it is ideal that your newborn is within 6-14 days old, I have photographed many older newborns that were 5 – 8 weeks old. As every newborn is different, I can still capture amazing images by changing positing, poses, etc. Please contact me to discuss further.
